The 2013 Hot Tamale Tour is in the history books, and we thank all of the wonderful cyclists who made it a very special day.
For pictures of the 2013 ride, check our photo album. There are also some very good pictures in a Marion Star photo album by Tom Graser.
We try to improve each year, so we'd really appreciate your feedback on the ride, if you could take a few minutes to fill out a short survey.
We're still doing the math and paying the bills, so we don't know yet how much money the Hot Tamale Tour raised for the Marion Tallgrass Trail. We do know that the generosity of our sponsors raised $1,700 for the trail before the ride even began, so please consider patronizing those sponsors.
Recreational Trail Update! (May, 2013) The Marion Tallgrass Trail is now cleared for hiking and mountain biking for 6 miles. Two railroad bridges in the first mile have been converted for trail use, and 1/4 mile has been paved. We've applied for a grant to extend the paved trail to a distance of 3.2 miles. We're also looking to purchase a 53 acre pond located next to the trail and install a walking/mountain biking trail around it.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause. Tax-deductible
donations can be mailed to Prairie Parks Foundation, PO box 651,
Marion, OH, 43301. For more information, see the park district
For pictures, see the trail's Facebook page.
